67th “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session ( 3rd in 2022 Series) - Dr. Tsuyoshi Kawakami
We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in healthcare sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models to help facilitate their career development toward becoming future global leaders.
This time we will host Dr. Tsuyoshi Kawakami, Senior Specialist on Occupational Safety and Health and Labour Inspection from the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team for South Asia. Dr. Kawakami graduated from the School of Medicine at TMDU in 1984 and received PhD in public health from the same institution. After completing his graduate program, he began his career in the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and the Ohara Memorial Institute for Science of Labour. He studied health and safety of various workplaces in Japan and other Asian nations and created training programs for improving occupational safety and health. In 2000, he joined the ILO team in Bangkok and then Geneva headquarters. He is currently working in the ILO New Delhi team for applying participatory approaches of improving occupational safety and health, promoting the ILO Conventions, and strengthening the national policy-legislative frameworks and labour inspection systems in South Asia.
Everyone is welcome to join us in a hearty discussion.
