68th “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session ( 4th in 2022 Series) - Dr. Yoshikazu Isomura
We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in healthcare sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models to help facilitate their career development toward becoming future global leaders.
We are pleased to invite Dr. Yoshikazu Isomura, Professor of the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology, Tokyo Medical and Dental University. Dr. Isomura graduated from Osaka University School of Medicine in 1996 and obtained his PhD from Kyoto University. He worked at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Neuroscience from 2000 and in the Buzsaki Laboratory at Rutgers University in the United States in 2002. After returning to Japan, he worked at RIKEN before becoming a professor at the Tamagawa University Brain Science Institute. In 2019, Dr. Isomura joined TMDU, where he is actively engaged in research and teaching in the field of cell physiology. Dr. Isomura is at the forefront of neuroscience, using techniques such as paracellular recording, multi-neuron recording and optogenetics to elucidate the mechanisms and functions of information processing in the neural circuits of the cerebrum.
Everyone is welcome to join us in a hearty discussion.
