73rd session(3rd in 2023 Series)“Find-Your-Role-Model” Session -Guest: Satoko Nachi
We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in healthcare sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models to help facilitate their career development toward becoming future global leaders.
We are pleased to invite Dr. Satoko Nachi, a physician who is active as a representative of the NPO Myanmar Family Clinic and Garden. After graduating from Dokkyo Medical University, Dr. Nachi gained clinical experience as an internist at Nippon Medical School. In 2002, at the age of 39, she became the fifth Japanese doctor to join Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and experienced various medical aid activities in many developing countries including Border of Thailand, Myanmar, and Jordan. In 2010, she started a mobile clinic in Ayeyarwaddy region of Myanmar, and up to the present, she has been in rural areas where is No Doctor : main Activities are mobile clinic, health education, personal hygiene guidance and community organic vegetable garden guidance. In the same year, she was elected as executive director of MSF Japan Branch. Dr. Nachi's achievements in supporting the health of the Myanmar people are significant, and she has received numerous awards.
