We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with alumni and worldwide leaders in healthcare sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models to help facilitate their career development toward becoming future global leaders.

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Miwa Izutsu, who serves as the Head of Medical Franchise for Takeda Pharmaceuticals' Japan Medical Office. After graduating from Iwate Medical University, Dr. Izutsu gained clinical experience as an anesthesiologist at the medical department of Yamagata University. Following this, she pursued research as a research associate at Duke University in the US before transitioning into the pharmaceutical industry. From 2015 to 2022, Dr. Izutsu held pivotal roles in Research & Development at Janssen Pharmaceutical K.K., contributing to the compound development both in Japan and in the US Global team. Since 2022, she has been based at Takeda Pharmaceuticals' Japan Medical Office, leading the medical franchise. Concurrently, she is furthering her education by pursuing an Executive MBA at Nagoya University of Commerce & Business. Additionally, she serves as a community lead at Drug Development Career Promotion (DDCP), an NPO dedicated to supporting various career paths for physicians.
