～Why should science students study humanities?～

In July 2013, TMDU and Waseda University signed an agreement with the primary goal of cooperating to cultivate future global leaders. This will be the sixth gathering of "Discussion Café" under this cooperation.

DCafé provides a rich environment for English discussion of current controversial topics with students from various backgrounds. This is a fantastic opportunity to network with students in various fields of study from Japan and other countries and practice expressing your opinions in English!

Why do we learn humanities? All TMDU freshmen are required to take liberal arts classes, such as history, literature and chemistry, but have you ever thought about the reason behind this? Is it to gain knowledge? ...to broaden our worldview before we work in society?
We are going to discuss whether science students should bother to learn humanities and vice versa. Why don't you join us and have fun talking with Waseda students about education?
